4 years with 12 month suspended for causing 5 million in damage and huge disruptions to the Luas line. I do feel for his family.

Pitiful sentence.
These fuckers should be getting about 10 years to set an example.

An online anti racism course? Yeah, that will fix someone, who got „whipped up into a frenzy“ by social media.

Proportional sentence given we’re in Ireland where rapists tend to get out in less than 10 years and murders just over 12 years.
Don’t support the guy’s cause nor what he did in any way but this is just how the criminal justice system is in Ireland, we don’t give long sentences.

All these anti-immigration lads are the same horrible cunts who were on anti-mask protests during covid.
Just out and out scumbags who’ll jump on any opportunity to break shit and attack people.

So he recorded himself doing the crime, kept the record and then committed more crime. I can’t even…

Looks like the Sherminator with those glasses. I feel sorry for his mam, he should have listened and not put her through this.

4 years really doesn’t seem like a long sentence given what he did. Then again, there’s no telling whether or not a longer sentence would change anything.

any fine?? the 5 million plus his expenses in jail to be paid by the taxpayer once more

Glad they caught him, and the sentence is appropriate.
My main question is why it took two years to reach a prosecution? Surely this is a pretty straightforward case, surely a month or two should be enough for a fair trail and conviction

€5m damage and a violent dangerous crime that could’ve taken lives and he’ll probably be out in 18 months to 2 years max?
The garlic tax fraud guy got 6 years for around €1.5m if I recall correctly.

3 years seems awfully light for €5m in Damages. He could work the rest of his life (he won’t) and never come close to repaying that in taxes.

3 years and he’s only being jailed now, almost 2 years after the riots? Say what you will about the UK, but Ireland could definitely take a leaf out of their book when it came to how quick they were to arrest, charge and jail their rioters.
