Als sie befreundet waren, waren sich die LDP und Komeito darüber einig, keine Kandidaten in Einsitzbezirken aufzustellen, in denen die andere Partei bereits einen Kandidaten hat. Komeito stellte bei den Unterhauswahlen 2024 Kandidaten in 11 dieser Bezirke auf.
Da Komeito nun ein Gegner ist, werde die LDP alles tun, um mehr Sitze in der Kammer zu gewinnen, sagte eine Quelle.

How about laws separating religion from politics?
This may actually backfire. Sokagakkai members are going to vote Komeito regardless of whether there is a LDP candidate.
I hope there’s a snap election and it backfires against the LDP. Doubt it, though. Probably will just end up with a minority government.
