One upgraded trainer is supposedly ready for flight tests. From what I read in the article the anti-drone role is an offshoot of a proposal to use the trainer as a light attack aircraft.
The fact the radar they’re proposing for this appears to be experimental itself instead of just giving the dang thing something that can detect drones now says this is mere internal propaganda but a huge international L for the waste it’ll show the world.
