So many times these articles talk about how houses should be homes and not investments, but you never see them talk about *why* so many investors look to property.

And one of the main factors is how much investors are punished when looking at investment channels that are popular in other countries. Investing in funds here are taxed so heavily that it makes them massively unappealing, and people then look to other sources like property.
