      Video only:

      >As we enter day 11 of the government shutdown, the White House has followed through on its mass layoff threat, sending notices to over 4,000 government workers. According to the Trump administration, Friday’s lay offs are “just a snapshot” and more will be coming.

      >Meanwhile, President Trump has said the administration intentionally moved to lay off “people that the Democrats want.”

Ladies and gentlemen, the President of these United states, who swore to uphold the constitution, swore to Make America Great Again is now… checks notes.. Doing his best to lay as many people off as possible.

Should be great for the Economy.

It’s almost like, this ‚President‘ doesn’t really care about the country’s people if they are not kissing his arse…

    4. >“The major problem, one of the major problems, for there are several, with governing people is that of who you get to do it. Or, rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To summarize: it is a well known and much lamented fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made president should on no account be allowed to do the job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem.“

Fascinating that he sees certain parts of the government as „Democrat“ and others as „Republican.“ So that thinking, through Vought, is going to be used to eliminate departments regardless of this shutdown. And Trump, through Vought, sees no need to follow agreements from Congress. So what this is, in my view, is a test for the resolve of the Democratic Party. The rules have changed and we’ll see if they understand the new reality.

This was coming regardless. He just feels Vought and himself have an amazing excuse and opportunity to pin it on Democrats.

And the public wasn’t buying that from day 1 of the shutdown. No way will they then blame the layoffs – which have never happened before – on Democrats.

I think they’ve thought bubbled themselves into a real problem.

    7. Can we give this most un-American president in history a reverse uno card please!

How are we supposed to not see this demented pedophile as a literal enemy of the people?

Everything he does is wildly inappropriate and just plain evil

He’s been laying off people in positions that are not consistent with his political priorities (or just because) since he came into office.

He’s just found a new excuse.

Pledging to layoff people only in the opposing party has to be illegal, right? I mean I get that that doesn’t really matter anymore but still.

    12. Language like this only feeds the prospect of a soft secession.

Why should blue states prop up the red when every action they perform is laced with such open and direct antagonisms toward half of the country?

Be reminded, that most authoritarian regimes are ended when 3-5% of the population finally stand together on opposition. We’re quickly coming to that moment, when the solution will be activists in the streets in numbers too great to overcome.

    13. Instead of republicans working to resolve the shutdown they are using the shutdown to continue their destruction of all that runs the operations of our government.

I remember a time when all the major US outlets called for the resignation of Joe Biden for *checks notes * sounding too old. I guess they only do so when a Democrat is in power

    15. This pile of garbage has already weaponized the government long ago. Don’t give him an inch.

It’s killing me to watch what he’s done to our country.

I didn’t know the Democrats were in charge of Congress. Only an idiot believes this is a Democrat led shut down

Democrats should refuse to pay taxes since they’re not being represented.

    18. Republicans threatening to shoot the hostages (the American people) as usual. Ok well they are in charge so they get to deal with the aftermath of that. In a bad economy people blame the president. Laid off people don’t buy cars, houses, and go shopping and the economy goes with it.  Same for people not getting paid and people will eventually stop showing up for work if they aren’t getting paid.  ACA marketplace opens up on November 1st and when people see how their health insurance premiums are going from $600 a month to $1400 a month without  subsidies, it’s going to be a challenge to propaganda that reality away.  I’m hoping for once the Democratic Party stays strong because they have the leverage here.

    19. This is a purge. He’s firing anyone who he thinks might not be loyal to him.

    20. He’s just making it worse for himself every day and every bad decision. Word is Republicans in the House and Senate are about to disconnect from him.

    21. This is a classic abuser move: „See what you made me do? Submit to my every whim or else.“

    22. This is the “look what you’re making me do” of an abusive spouse as they beat you
