Trump started this dumb trade war and he sucks at it. The only thing he’s accomplished is insulting and threatening all of America’s trading partners, losing buyers of American goods, and driving up prices for American consumers.
He lies about **everything** and has no idea how international trade works.
The us hasn’t made commercial ships since the 1970s lmao.
I won’t be surprised if hstory will rank Trump as the absolute worse US president ever elected for the damages he caused domestically and globally.

are there any american cargo ships in the oceans now? maybe one or two vessels?
how do we even classify that? like american built ships? american registered ships? american owned ships? american operated ships? american bound ships? ships containing american exports?

Unfortunately the US won’t win this.
China is a country with bullet trains and has rapidly developed in the past decade.
The US major technological innovations in the last 5 years are the Las Vegas loop and software that can generate short form content that stresses the power grid.
We had a good run, thank God my savings account says living past 50 is not a viable option for me.

If I were the Chinese government I wouldn’t even bother to respond. Trump’s move would largely make things more expensive in the US and would suffer from the backlash. All the costs will be transferred to the US consumer so it’s no skin off the Chinese noses.
Everyone saying this hurts America and not China consider this. China manipulates its currency to make goods cheap. it dumps cheap goods on America. With higher tariffs, that makes their goods less affordable. Americans buy less. China loses. Saving face is huge in Asia, so of course the Chinese government paints this as they don’t care. But no country on earth can replace the buying power of the Americans and China knows it.
