It’s getting to the point where he’s no longer just moving goal posts but changing the entire game.
I don’t recall a mention of lifting the tanker ban or emissions cap during the campaign, but somebody can correct me if I’m wrong!
We need to stop sitting on the fence here. Either come out and say „fuck the environment we only care about money“ or let’s actually fucking do something about climate change.
Our country is literally burning as I type this.
Carney is no dummy, but he is going to alienate a lot of voters who are deeply concerned and knowledgeable about the effects of climate change if he keeps going down this path. The effects of climate change are now impossible to ignore, unless you’re ignorantly oblivious living in Alberta and Saskatchewan. While his actions likely would never send thinking voters into the Trump loving conservative hands, it might send them back to the NDP (if Avi Lewis wins the leadership) and that creates an increasingly unstable minority government with conservatives having more of a say. Remember who put you in elected office, Mark. Hint: it wasn’t Danielle Smith, Scott Moe or their ilk.
