Latvia`s fear of having Russians living within its border is not so far fetched given Putin’s use of assymetrical warfare extensively.

These people who are deported were warned few years prior of what they need to do if they wanted to stay. They needed to study very basic Latvian language skills, which I guess they did not deem necessary and „chose“ to leave the country instead
