      FWIW, Obama in no universe deserved the peace prize either. The committee did massive harm to the prize, setting up exactly the sort of farce we are seeing with Trump, giving Obama a nod hoping that it would somehow induce him to their goals.

      The only way this could get any more satisfying would be if the Nobel Commission hyphenated the namesake of the honor and added Obamas name directly to the award, the legacy, and the media juggernaut that it is.

      King Cheetos ego being so effectively destroyed would compel him to make nice with Elon for the sake of hacking nuke technology to bypass all security just to needlessly erase a planet — for the sake of not having to hear that he got so rightfully snubbed — again.

      I disagree. I think everyone is underestimating the stupidity involved in this.

      Trump wants the Nobel Peace Prize for an even dumber reason: he thinks it will get him into heaven.

      This is absolutely the type of guy who thinks that, if he has a Nobel Prize, God *has* to let him in. You can absolutely see him trying to make that argument at the Pearly Gates. Everything is transactional and status based with this guy – doing all the awful shit in the world can be somehow offset by winning the biggest „good guy“ prize at all.

      Not that he wants to do anything *actually* good. He doesn’t understand the importance of substance. For people like Trump, it’s all about the appearances.

      Obama won a Nobel for not being Bush. Eventually somebody will win a Nobel for not being Trump.

      Ironically, The Obama win actually embarrassed the committee because he then went on to become king of the drone strikes.

      The Nobel committee said that Obama was awarded the Peace Prize because of a vague commitment to nuclear disarmament, it was really too soon in his term for that though. I suspect the real reason was that simply by being elected, it signaled a turning point in US race relations, but they could not say that directly due to potential backlash here.

      Trump was the backlash, so there would be zero chance he will ever get one no matter what he does. Especially if he continues to be the same horrible person that he has always been.
