It looks like OP posted an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of [concerns over privacy and the Open Web](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmputatorBot/comments/ehrq3z/why_did_i_build_amputatorbot).

Maybe check out **the canonical page** instead: **[https://www.newsbomb.gr/kosmos/story/1685096/apistefto-ki-omos-alithino-metetrepsan-ekklisia-sta-katexomena-se-kafe-bar-vinteo](https://www.newsbomb.gr/kosmos/story/1685096/apistefto-ki-omos-alithino-metetrepsan-ekklisia-sta-katexomena-se-kafe-bar-vinteo)**

The church of Agios Georgios Spiliotis in occupied Lapithos has been converted into a stable. The church of Saint Anne in the village of Kythrea was used as a boxing school. In occupied Trikomo, there is a chapel that serves as a tourist information center. The church of Agia Paraskevi in Melouda also serves as a stable.

The vast majority of churches in occupied Karpasia, as well as local Greek Orthodox cemeteries, are in a state of disrepair, with nothing salvageable inside and the rest covered in debris from broken tiles and crosses.

If nothing else, the church of Panagia tou Trachona in occupied Nicosia is something of an exhibition center that comes closest to something remote called respect for historical and religious monuments by this subservient military-ruled entity.

Why is that a bad thing? If there is no other use for the building.

In other parts of Europe many churches have turned into libraries or clubs and if I remember right one church became an indoor skate park.

This has little to do with the „occupation authorities“.

This building in Famagusta has not been in use as a church since long before 1974. The Christians of Famagusta settled in Varosha and the old town became the area where alone the Muslim population lived. Even more, it’s a Catholic church therefore it was probably last used as a church in Medieval times.

De Molay bar exists since many years and it’s popular among the locals and visitors, including Greek Cypriots. Literally nobody minds.

I ve been saying it for years. We should turn all the mosques in cyprus to brothels. If they dont know respect , we shouldnt either.
