Personally I find your writing to be rather preachy. Railing against the west, those with wealth, and those that dream of colonization as fools who should instead focus on Earth and build a “meritocratic” society. Although the society in question doesn’t sound meritocratic in the western sense but instead in the eastern. Specifically the language feels socialist in nature but with the modern twist of globalized socialism where everyone on earth must be lifted up before we ever step out of our atmosphere.
These are tired arguments. You lack nuance and come off as writing a manifesto but not following through completely. The title itself seems like a lie, as you don’t list any of the arguments for colonization or privatization of space in a good faith argument. Instead you treat them as a list to go down and try and debunk or use a moral argument against them.
A proper essay with this title would go through both the arguments for and against in the same fashion. It doesn’t need to feel emotionless but instead should be as unbiased as possible and should account for the variables of nation states and individual actors such as humans themselves.
