Smooth newt AKA common newt, it’s fine as it is, they can swim very well too.

Best thing to do is leave it alone. As Pagan_Pat say leave him somewhere damp.

    3. There’s a kinda pond on the hellfire club trail if you go the left way to the hell fire club on the trail that has a sign saying frogs and these newts love there so maybe bring him there.

Bring him to the local council office and put him on the ballot for President

Ok so firstly thank you to everyone

I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know we had newts in Ireland

Took it as a learning curve for the chislers and we moved him somewhere a little nicer outside where it’s damp and he can go off and find some friends

      Seriously though.. thanks

The world seems heavy at the moment and yiz are good sorts

      Night

    6. Well, if you were gawking at it up close then thats probably why it was staying still.

      Wait

Does this mean I can tell my hubby I’m actually a witch now 😂😂😂

I came across one Saturday night in my garage. I think he was after the slugs there but as there are some feral cats that like to nap inside, I relocated him to the corner of the lawn under the bushes.

He’ll do fine anywhere outside that’s damp.

Geo is now living his best life

He is not available for spider infestations or presidential elections

This lad has his priorities straight and is off to make baby newts

If anyone could give me advice on how to explain to my Gen Z who lives abroad what’s happening with the presidential election I’d be grateful though 👀

    10. Ah a newt.

      Amphibian not a lizard.

They’re more closely related to frogs and toads than reptiles.

Put it somewhere damp and let it be.
