It’s Nord Stream 2, not North Stream 2.
This project undermined stability in Central (or Eastern if you will) Europe.
It was one of the reasons why Russia thought they might get away with invading Ukraine.
Poland should just have invaded Germany and put a stop to it then.
I thought it was written by Donald Trump. A problem for the US LNG projects indeed. But the German technology built on cheap Russian energy would benefit Europe. Just somehow the Russians never do business properly.

Diabolic take, the NS2 was keeping the heavy industry in germany alive basically. No wonder since the start of the war German economy is tanking.

Clearly being energetically dependent by a state like Russia, which as an antagonistic approach to the EU has not been a great geopolitical move, but it was working until some of the main political figures in EU were still able to negotiate with Putin.
Denmark did try to rebrand it as EU infrastructure, and by that make it something the EU could debate or say no to.
