Is there any answer for how we will buffer this for supply/production fluctuations? Nuclear is slow to start/stop, batteries are hella expensive, and energy storage by pumping water is super dependent on geography.
So the US would consume 10 percent of electricity in 2050? Not bad.

90% of current electricity consumption or 90% of the total? Lots of things will be moving to electricity from fossil fuels (heating, transport etc) which is pushing demand up already.
Nuclear power is the way to go
And at night? just wind? and if there’s no wind in the night time? 10% nuclear/gas/hidro will be enough?

10% is the USA with smog worse than china and india combined today.
This is great but….a bit too late. This should’ve been done in 2000. We’re about to reap the full extent of climate change.
