So….what did Robbie do to anger dictator Erdogan?

Absolutely 100% speculating here but his wife is half Turkish, with her Turkish roots being from Istanbul. He has never had a concert in Turkey before and now this one is cancelled. He’s been “just around the corner” from Istanbul quite often in his tours – Greece and Bulgaria for example, would really be logistically easy to squeeze in an Istanbul concert. So that all is a bit strange.

Now for the speculating part; his wife or his wife’s family may have been labeled anti-Erdogan? They’re Jews so that might be enough in the current political climate to make Williams undesirable in Turkey anyway.

There might be some other reasons as well but mostly likely reason for their cancelation can be just “ We don’t want more concerts and we have the power to cancel them so we do willy nilly“.

This is not the first concert that has been canceled in Turkey in the last 2-3 years and probably won’t be the last. The goverment basically is trying to make the life a living hell for anyone who does not follow the same lifestyle as they do. And seeing young people of different genders having fun together and maybe drinking alcohol is a big no no in their book as they are that backwards thinking.
