Submission Statement: Fareed Zakaria argues in the Washington Post that while the U.S. still sees itself as the global tech leader, China is pulling ahead by embedding AI, green tech, robotics, and infrastructure into everyday life and governance. He notes that China installed nearly nine times as many industrial robots as the U.S. last year and is pioneering “low-altitude economy” projects with drones and urban airspace. By contrast, the U.S. is distracted by internal political battles and underfunding its innovation base. Zakaria warns that if Washington doesn’t get serious, it risks ceding the technological future to Beijing.
