      Reminder: Hayley Williams was born in Mississippi and moved to Nashville as a kid. She has a legitimate gripe against the current Nashville scene because that was her scene for a long time, and it was not very nice to musicians that went against the grain. Paramore is a success story despite Nashville. She’s a local with an axe to grind.

      Morgan Wallen is just a modern day Elvis. Someone who has some amount of talent who strips African American sounds (for Elvis it was whole songs, lyrics, and blues, for Wallen it’s trap beats and vernacular) to sell to white audiences and give nothing back to the people who made those sounds popular in the first place.

      Culture vulture to the T. We’ve seen it before. And we’ll see it again.

      Kinda unrelated but it’s sad that Hayley’s music is just not good anymore. A lot of her music now is stuff that tries to be anthems with messages and they all fall flat. The News, that ego death song, etc. I’m glad she feels like free to do whatever now that she’s off Atlantic but at least make pop music again. A lot of her material now could be poems imo

      This article misrepresents what happened after he used the racial slur. Radio stations *did* remove him from their playlists, but there was backlash and it made him *more* popular. He didn’t bounce back, there was nothing to bounce back from because it never actually hurt him. This is important because the people telling us that white people are the real victims of racism in this country are the same people who made him more popular for using a racial slur.
