    1. Meanwhile that 12 year old was fucked up for the rest of their lives.

6 months is a travesty of justice.

      EDIT: Rewording for clarity.

Hope his fellow inmates make the most of their short time together.

Per the article, „the church also reportedly settled a 2016 lawsuit in which church leaders allegedly destroyed video footage showing one boy sexually assaulting another in the church’s child care program.“

So, in addition to having a personal history of child abuse, he was leading a church that was actively covering up child abuse at the same time he was serving as Trump’s spiritual advisor.

This is why they have to project so hard about this stuff.

A plea that takes a 10 year sentence down to 6 months seems insanely inappropriate. I’m all for lighter punishments if you fess up instead of putting the state (and victim(s)) through a trial, but what the actual fuck.

    5. I once heard someone say that homosexuality can be a result of abuse, yet their entire point was to still condemn homosexuality. Interesting that even when confronted with the opportunity to condemn the cause, as they see it, they still focus on the end result. Child abusers have always gotten a pass in religion. That needs to change.

    6. if i was a member of a club, and then i found out that all the leaders of that club were molesting kids and enriching themselves by asking the poorest people in the club to give them money.

      i would leave.

there is no reason religion should exist in 2025. the internet exists. this information can not be hidden anymore.

it’s a testament to the power of youth indoctrination that religion persists. that’s why the gop wants to bring religion into public schools, if they can get in and brainwash children at national scale, it’s over. they’ll have a dynasty for a 1000 years.

    7. Texas is the same place that sentenced a woman to five years in prison for inadvertent “voter fraud.” Crystal Mason’s conviction was overturned on appeal last year but only after a six year legal battle. This slap on the wrist demonstrates the systemic inequities in Texas.

Pedophilia is now just frowned upon under the current regime. You have to ask… what changed?

Didn’t the demented pedophile just go on a rant about Democrats being Satan?

The projection with this lowlife is off the charts

Remember this, as the President of the United States calls the opposing party evil. Remember the Epstein files, and who is constantly trying to block all access to it. These men are evil. Their acts are evil. And we should all hold them to account.

      What the actual fuck?!

This is a legitimate predator. He was caught, tried, and convicted. Dude should be serving 10 years at a minimum.

Didn’t the MAGAs just say they wanted the death penalty for this type of crime?

    13. If any Democrat’s had a “spiritual advisor” like this the Democrats political career would be over.

Well, he is a pedophile and America evidently loves pedophiles and rapists. Just ask Rafael „stop attacking pedophiles“ Cruz.

In fact, this country loves pedophiles and rapists so much, that we elected one twice for some utterly baffling reason. Makes sense that this guy would get a slap on the wrist at most.

    15. He got a fine of only $250,000 and 6 months. He could ask his 100,000 member congregation to donate a dollar every week and pay that off in 3. How is this not a broken system?

    16. Hope the civil suit brings actual justice and bankrupts the „church“.

    17. usernamescifi on

Only 6 months? People caught with a few grams of cannabis have served longer prison sentences than that…..

Why even bother hiding the Epstein files? It’s not like there are real consequences.

    19. Wow…they aren’t even *trying* to pretend they aren’t outright supporting pedophiles now.

      Guarding Our Pedophiles indeed.

    20. He will be serving his 6 months in county jail, what a joke. The judge should be ashamed for this horrible sentencing. Six months, county jail, what an embarrassment for local law enforcement.

The normalization of the sexual abuse of children in America. The spiritual aspect, the grooming,
