There’s dumb people everywhere in every country. It might have been racially motivated or just bored idiots, if they said something it would probably help in figuring it out
Sounds like dumb young people doing dumb things at 1AM
It’s funny how you go for them thinking you were Indian after thinking about them being racist as if it wouldn’t be possible for those to do it to a Nepalese person, lol.
Dunno about your particular situation, but I had some thrown at me while I was sitting inside a bus(behind glass, so nothing hit me of course) a year ago or so and I’m very much white looking. Definitely some drunk/stupid teenagers in my case, it can be so in yours too.
Sounds very nasty action, sorry that you had to face it. I haven’t heard about throwing eggs at people before. At one point some young people had a craze about throwing eggs at windows and buildings; but that was randomly targeted. Not sure about motivation in this, probably only the people who did it know.
I’m a white guy from the US, and I have faced several bouts of xenophobia myself. I have also experienced inclusivity on roughly the same scale, to be fair. But two things are true about Finland: it’s very xenophobic, and it’s very drunk. So there’s an equal chance that you were targeted by racists vs. being some drunk moron’s random target.
First off, I’m sorry you had to experience such a senseless act against you. Everyone should be able to live and move around safely without the fear of being assaulted.
However, while there’s no other obvious motivation for the egging, nothing in your description of the event directly suggests racism. That is, unless the assailants also uttered some words to that effect. I’m any case, you were there so I believe you are far better suited to assess the situation than anyone reading and responding to your post.
I don’t think that there’s raging hate against Indians throughout the world. That being said, I’m not up to speed on the events in Ireland that you’re referring to.

Throwing things at others ain’t really a thing in finland so my guess is drunk idiots
Welcome to Malmi.
For some reason I got thrown eggs last year from a car. Ruined my Uggs. I am Finnish so it wasn’t racism, I think it was some asshole teens
where you too white or yellow? let me guess, you’d get egged anyway.
As an immigrant I am so tired of people blaming the local population for ANYTHING, while other immigrants are actually making these countries less safe.
Immediately jumping to xenophobic this and racist that. They’re too nice to say it, but if you think they’re so bad take your good intentions and leave.
The problem is Pihlajamäki and Malmi
The fact they had eggs in the first place tells that they planned to throw them at people.
You just were unlucky to be nearby
Drunk egg throwing thats a new sport.
Near my home town in Italy usually they shoot with real guns from cars. 😁. Anyway, just some drunk idiots, it happens to everyone, sooner or later, to encounter some of them. It could have happened to anyone; I don’t think there’s any racial motivation behind it.
Is that all the eggs?
Impossible to know for sure if it was motivated by racism or just regular stupidity. I am sorry this happened to you as no one deserves to have this happen to them even if no physical damage was done.
As to your thoughts about it possibly being due to people thinking you were Indian, I do not think most racist in Finland care about whether your are Nepalese or Indian, just that you don’t look like what they think a Finnish person should look like.
Please explain me what you mean by Indian or something.
