Why the blockade (and therefore, kidnapping internationals) is illegal:
– Geneva Convention IV, Article 33
– Additional Protocol I, Article 54
– Principle of Proportionality
– UNCLOS
The Palmer Report from 2011 that says the blockade is legal is widely acknowledged as being contradictory to IHL and influenced by Israeli politics.

It was supposed to be 500, but 3 Egyptian participants disappeared before they left and were last seen in Cairo. I hope everyone returns safely.

Daily reminder that even if shit is legal, legality is never morality and it’s a poor excuse to say „BUT ITS LEGAL“

Here in the uk the only coverage we’re getting is that a Muslim attacked a synagogue and killed two people, nothing on Israel capturing these people delivering aid. The bias is real!

But Greta was on the flotilla so most people tuned it out

I’m so confused, who broke the law ? People are saying they were “detained” for illegally entering international water ? Is that illegal ?

Glad to see no Canadians got themselves involved in this nonsens

Colombian president kicked out all the Israeli diplomats after learning what happened to this group. Two colombian activists were on the boat.

Literally everyone rn is turning their back on Israel except for Daddy US. A Polish politician was on this ship and currently our whole side of the internet is talking about it. The hard thing here is that there are arguements for both sides here. There is a law where it states that if a navy holding a blockade suspects a ship is going to swim through it they can stop them and even attack them on international waters, on the other hand Israel doesn’t really have a justification for holding such a blockade in the first place, as Israel doesn’t consider Palestine a country, they are just doing a blocaked over a random plot of land. IMO what Israel did is illegal, but they have a lot of possibility in explaining themselves. But the whole talking point of „Israel can do whatever“ is just not true, just look what EU is doing currently, removing everything Israel from even such small things like Eurovision. The only country still supporting them is the US, which is probably why this sentiment seems to be the strongest with Americans.

Don’t talk about laws in vain, this country is a terrorist country, it doesn’t know the law
