    1. The purchases come despite Taiwan’s opposition to Russia’s war in Ukraine and sanctions on Moscow.

It also raises concerns about the self-governing island’s economic security. China, which claims Taiwan as its territory despite having never controlled it, is a close partner of Russia, posing the risk it could lean on Moscow to cut off supplies.

Taiwan rejected America’s semiconductor policy and then suddenly this CNN article pops up !!! Like a teacher giving warning to student.

Taiwan is not buying russian oil today it’s been buying oil from long ago but US only shows fake concerns now to put pressure on Taiwan to make them accept US policy on semiconductors .

Those oil products are used to make chips that are used in all the weapons being sent to Ukraine. Taiwan can’t stop production whatsoever or the world suffers.

Everyone is doing business with Russia one way or another, The west just wanted to make a slaughter pig out of Ukraine.

    6. Can trade alone really reveal anything? Russia was Ukraine’s largest trading partner before the war, and China is Taiwan’s largest, despite posing the greatest threat.

Trade often follows geography or price, not alignment. Rather than pointing at Taiwan, we should examine our own consumption pattern especially those of NATO allies

      For the last fucking time:

The goal has never been to stop buying Russian oil. If we (the west and Allies) did that, prices would skyrocket and the Russian oil revenues would go up, not down, as the people they sell even more to (China and India mostly) will pay higher prices.

The EU policy has always very clearly been to buy Russian oil at an artificially low price, (recently set at 15% below market value IIRC), to keep global prices low and Russian profits low.

The only member of the sanctioning countries that seems to have forgotten that is the U.S., ever since trump took office.

So no. Taiwan buying Russian oil is not bad or weird. *Ukraine* is buying Russian oil ffs.
