Dems need to hold the line.
If they cave everyone will go broke trying to pay for health insurance while trump’s fat cat mates get a tax deduction to pay for that new mega yacht.
Of course that’s what they wanted. A way to not only blame Democrats, but to cause even more unemployment thinking this shut down is an excuse to fire more people.
The GOP keeps pushing and eventually you can only push so far until people’s backs hit a corner, and a backed animal is not something they have any idea how to deal with. They think this idea of their civil war and martial law will go a certain way when they all shit their pants just having a crowd protest outside their homes
They want a shut down because it closes federal courts who are the only ones standing up to Trump.
They left early and already had their „Democrats want to give healthcare to immigrants“ lie all charged to spread.
Of course they did. They are lying about why it happened in the first place.
Why is it they get to repeatedly lie and no one ever calls them out?

These subsidies do not apply to illegal immigrants, please be reminded by virtue of being illegal you are not only not eligible it’s a great way to get caught as being illegal.

It’s very clear from the unified message coming from Trump and Johnson and the plethora of „Meanie Dems made us do it!“ email signatures and web page banners that went up immediately on shutdown that whoever is running the government thinks they either have a strategy to win the shutdown in partisan terms, or just wanted it to go on to permit further destruction of the civil service.
The options were “give them what they want” either way.
Anything they can blame on the democrats..

Of course they did. They don’t work for the American people. They work for themselves and the billionaires who pay them. It’s absolutely no skin off their ass if people lose healthcare, nor if federal workers get paid.

I heard commentators say they need to go back to the bargaining table. There IS NO bargaining table. Republicans‘ stance was a take it or leave it scenario. The bill is loaded with poison pills that the Democrats would never vote for. If they did, the Republicans would use it against them in upcoming elections. The whole thing was rigged from the start.
They’re going to fire as many people as possible and give sweet no bid contracts to their pals to privatize every possible function.

Easy reason to say why they are doing more layoffs. Projects 2025 plan on steroids.
Allows for civil unrest, likely to happen in big cities, so more ice and national guard placed in those areas.
Allows the public to become desensitized to military policing.
Martial law and likely ask the Supreme Court to halt elections while “civil unrest” occurs.
Vought is ecstatic he’s got to be the happiest person in the land, he gets even more mass layoffs than he originally wrote for project 2025 he can blame it on someone else, he got doge to do his dirty work the first time around and now he’ll get to do it himself with “cause”.
They had messages on government websites blaming democrats ready to be pushed. It’s obvious they wanted this to happen.
