Back then, the character limit was 140 which has been doubled to 280.

Imagine going back to the 90’s and saying to someone „In less than two decades, one of the most influential cornerstones of our society will be limited to 140 characters and eventually might increase to 280“ and not really anything else besides what’s either popular or promoted will matter.
