    2. I took my exchange student family for a scenic route through the nordic countries by train. That is how I discovered that Helsinki to Kiruna is pretty much nothing but forest. However, the rail trip from Kiruna to Narvik was spectacular. Coming out of the forests and driving along the side of an almost vertical mountain was such a difference. Of course, we saw very little on our ferry ride though Lofoten – the fog and rain was too thick..

      Reverssed when driving from Trondheim to Bodo.

      Or reverse it for driving north from Helsingborg to Lyngen or Lofoten without a break over the E6 and then spending all the time in Norway.
