I had the pleasure of attending a lecture she gave once. She was an inspiring woman.

You want to show some respect, but an upvote looks like you’re happy she’s dead. Is there Reddit etiquette on this? (I upvoted anyway out of respect for her) .

Aww, props to her for a life well lived with purpose.

Farewell to a lovely person, great scientist and fierce advocate for wildlife. I wanted to be like her when I was a kid. What a life she had!. 💙🦍🦧🌏

She spoke at my high school in the 90s and signed my „how to draw animals“ book. My kids were just looking at that this weekend and asked if she was still alive. I said I didn’t know but I doubted it. We looked it up and discovered she was still alive! Sad to hear of her passing so soon after.
She lived a full life. Legend.

We also lost Jeffrey Meldrum recently (American anthropologist).
Amazing folks that did such incredible work!

She was a good one. I remember she loved a Gary Larson „Far Side“ comic about a gorilla finding a blonde hair while grooming her mate and complaining he’d been hanging out with that „hussy“ Jane Goodall again.

Wow I have looked up to this woman for so many years. She was truly an amazing scientist and advocate. May she rest in a very well deserved peace.

I work in conservation and ecology because of Jane Goodall and Steve Irwin. This is devastating news but that woman has inspired thousands. And what a life she lived. Damn, rest in peace Jane. Go be with your baby Koko again 💜

I just heard on public radio that Julie Andrew’s turned 90 and was happy to hear, but then immediately seen this post after, what a loss.

I was incredibly fortunate to be able to meet her a few weeks ago before one of her lectures with my biologist grandmother.
My grandmother got her PhD in 1981. She told Dr. Goodell that without here, she probably wouldn’t have been able to go into the sciences as a woman. It was one of the most powerful moments of my life. Dr. Goodell was sharp as a tack right up to the end, and was a fucking icon who inspired generations of scientists.
Her passing is very sad, and I would encourage everyone to donate to the Goodall Institute to help them carry on her legacy and the amazing work they do.
