There was a special election in Arizona, that a Democrat named Adelita Grijalva won. With her winning that seat from a Republican, the Democrats secured a 218th vote to release the Epstein files.
Well, Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, is refusing to seat Grijalva, because he knows that doing so would result in the Epstein files getting voted on and getting released.
This is the same Mike Johnson whose taken trips to Israel and is a big believer in all the Evangelical Zionist end times doomer prophecy. Johnson also ended Congress’s summer session early to avoid the Epstein files release getting a floor vote. It’s pretty clear the Johnson is intimately involved in the cover-up here.

I agree that this is probably about the Epstein files, but who says it stops here? What if he just refuses to swear in any democrats from now on? What if dems do the same against republicans? Was it always this easy to just seize power without even needing a violent coup? Are there just zero guardrails to prevent something like this?

Biden’s failure to raise the minimum wage because „the parliamentarian would get mad“ is the classic example.
Thomas Massie R-KY drew up this bill for the Epstein file release specifically to thwart the maneuverings. Congress Both Parties managed to come up with this latest bonehead move.
