Good, shut it down. The government under Trump is only harming Americans (and immigrants) so shut it down until we get the orange turd to stop being so fascist.
If they throw LGBTQ people under the bus to avert a shutdown, I simply won’t vote dem anymore.
Hell, shut it down. Maybe they can do less damage that way. It’s all a fucking disaster anyway right now
Remember, if the ~~teacher~~ government is 15 minutes ~~late~~ shutdown we’re legally allowed to ~~leave~~ commit crimes.
As someone who works closely with organizations that get funded through grants and Medicaid, this is going to hurt so much. That said, the alternative is way worse. Do not let them chip away at our rights, demanding the whole way that we bail them out. They control all three branches of government – fuck these guys
Schumer and Jeffries are such feckless leaders that there needs to be votes of no confidence amongst the Democrats immediately after Schumer caves to get this budget passed. Just about every damn interview this week from Jeffries or Schumer starts out with „We’re hoping Republicans will…“ or something along those lines. If your plan to combat fascism relies on the fascists doing something then you might as well just give up now.
As soon as the government shuts down, the takeover will begin.
How high is the chance Democrats will throw transpeople under the bus?
Already it’s being set up as blame democrats for whatever the outcome, not the party that wants to take healthcare away form trans people or threatening to fire people
If they fold to avoid people in government losing their jobs,they will be considered throwing trans people under the bus,and some people below have threatened to leave the party ,which is a benefit to the party pushing for trans erasure
If they don’t fold ,once again they are to blame for shutting down government,and people losing their jobs, even though Trump is publicly threatening to fire people
Republicans are going to shut the government down because of Trump’s ego.
