Als Follow-up in meinem US-58-Beitrag finden Sie hier eine Fokusansicht des Landkreises. Lee County sitzt in der äußersten Südwestecke von Virginia und wird von US-23, US-58 und US-421 überquert. County Conqueror karten alle US- und zwischenstaatlichen Route von County; Der CF -Modus zoomt ein, um alle Routen durch einen einzelnen Landkreis anzuzeigen.

Data Source: TIGER/Line shapefiles (counties, routes), Google Earth for sanity checks, Wikipedia (route summaries).
Tools: Leaflet.js, OpenStreetMap basemap, custom JavaScript app.
Visualization: My project *County Conqueror* generates mileage by county for each US/Interstate route.
I am missing the point. Did someone ask for this?
This is literally just a map. Nifty website probably, but where’s the effort?
Kind of an afterthought, but the fun for me is that each of these maps is just a tiny view into a huge dataset underneath. Lee County by itself might not seem “data worthy,” but it’s one tile in the mosaic. The beauty in this dataset is that different slices have quite different looks. For example, the US 58 post earlier is one view of the data when grouped by **route**. This post here is one view of the data when grouped by **county**.
That’s what makes this fun: every little map is a different window into the same big picture.
