Great and him and the orange baboon are about to have a meeting with military brass to see where their loyalties lie…. It’ll end well.

What a shocker.
I bet they will report the sky is blue tomorrow as well.

Surprise? He’s grossly unqualified for this position!

Trump picks people based on loyalty, not competence.
The truth is that running the federal government is hard and it takes smart, educated, flexible and honest people to make it function.
Kegseth is struggling because he is learning those are serious people in the military. They’ve spent a lifetime being well above average in all regards and Pete wasn’t even a decent tv hose, let alone leader of the most complex and powerful military force ever known to man

* He’s fundamentally unqualified for the job, COMPLETELY in over his head.
* He knows it.
* All the officers know it too.
* He doesn’t trust the apparatus he’s in charge of because of the above, and, insisting on using alternative channels, leaks information like a sieve.
* Because he’s incapable of learning, he’s unable to fix the leaks.
* He’s an alcoholic.
Of course he’s spiraling. MULTIPLE other people have already taken the falls for his failures. This whole bullshit „All general meeting“ he has coming is him trying to command some respect, and he’ll NEVER get it, because career officers recognize someone who got their job by kissing ass and respect it like Hegeseth respects OP Sec.

> Also under scrutiny are Hegseth’s extensive personal security demands, which, according to the paper, are now straining the Army agency responsible for protecting him. The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has reportedly pulled agents away from criminal probes in order to safeguard Hegseth’s residences in Minnesota, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C.
It’s almost like he’s having anxiety attacks complete with paranoia because he knows he’s an asshole. You know, it seems that maybe being an asshole just to „own the libs“ has consequences even if being asshole means „winning“ stupid games.
Also not the demeanor I prefer to have with someone in charge of our entire military and has to make key decisions in a situation room with a President who is not very intelligent, patient and acts on feelings, emotions and impulses.

So I don’t know Pete personally and have never worked with him, but I have worked pretty high up in military operations at the strategic and operational levels and I’ve worked with a couple people like him.
At these level, you don’t necessarily need a super-genius expert in everything. The best performing leaders are people that work hard, but also know how to explain their intentions and delegate. Even better if you seem competent and act as a calming factor for your team and make their work feel purposeful.
Pete Hegseth has no experience with any of those things. He reminds of leaders I served under that couldn’t organize their team so everything was a constant reactive emergency. Those leaders just grind people down then move on.

I’m curious to find out what these true soldiers do in this meeting. They value honor, loyalty and bravery. They don’t suffer fools. But a stolen valor drama queen ex fox journalist is going to tell them about „warrior ethos“. I won’t be surprised if one or more of them tell him where to get off. That a guy with some tough tatoos a bit of national guard experience and a lackey of a draft dodging coward don’t get to lecture them. It will probably cost whoever does this their career. But it could happen.

He looks and acts like combo cocaine/alcohol addicts I’ve known.
They slam the blow hard during the day to keep moving with maintenance alcohol sprinkled in to take the edge off, followed by slamming the alcohol hard at night with maintenance blow sprinkled in to keep them from drunk passing out in the street. Sleep a few shitty hours in there somewhere and repeat process. It ALWAYS leads to a mental health crisis eventually because they aren’t letting what brain they have get normal sleep basically ever and there’s only so long you can do that.
A lot of folks can actually juggle this cycle for years when they are in „something to lose“ mode so they make an effort to keep it under control/have some sense of proportion, but eventually they either get comfortable enough or stressed enough or just pickled enough that it goes from using to BINGING and I bet that’s where he is in the cycle.
Just speculating I don’t know the guy but he sure does look and act like others that I did know.
