

Ich bestellte etwas Garn von Türkiye – 12 € im Wert von ~ 22 € nach dem Versand. Ich war damit zufrieden. Das war in Ordnung. Jetzt hat DHL eine Rechnung in meinem Konto, die ehrlich gesagt ein bisschen ausgefallen zu sein scheint … über 20 -fache die anfänglichen Warenkosten … das kann möglicherweise nicht normal sein, oder? Ich habe hier andere Beiträge gesehen, in denen gesagt wurde, dass ihnen für einen Tisch 600 € extra zusätzlich belastet wurde, also versuche ich nur herauszufinden, wie dies möglicherweise gleich ist. Ganz zu schweigen davon, dass ich in der Vergangenheit extra für Waren aus den USA bezahlen musste, was weit mehr als dieses gekostet und nur 50 € an Gebühren, Mehrwertsteuer usw. bezahlt habe. Ich bin nur sehr verwirrt. Hilf mir zu verstehen.

Most likely, the sender did improperly fill in the Zollerklärung.
Seems like a currency mistake. Probably the value was declared in liras on the package or the documentation.
21,65 euro -> 1.055 lira.
1.055 lira * 0,19 = 200 euros
And that’s approximately what the sales tax is.
I mean, you probably could’ve bought that locally in any (bigger) craft store
You should pay 19% VAT on top of the value of your goods and then some fees for DHL to handle the process with the Zoll.
Those values don’t seem right. I don’t have experience ordering from Türkiye but I do often from Japan. Usually end price at my place is ~25% on top of price paid to Merchant.
The only thing I can see there is that you are being charged 195€ in taxes, which would put your product valued at over 1000€. If the Zoll considers the value of the good declared to not bearing reasonable they can do their own evaluation. Non the less I would recommend contacting them.
Edit: 1000 Turkish lira is around 20€. Could there have been a currency mistake ?
Afaik if the shipment doesn’t have a stated value or it’s suspected that the stated value is false the Zoll guesses the value of the goods and applies EUst on that amount. You should be able to show them the bill and get it corrected.
If you already accepted the parcel it might be more difficult
If you are sure that these are the taxes and duty charges for the order in the second screenshot and that the invoice is actually from DHL and not a scam, I would just call and ask them before paying anything. Hotline should be available online.
I hate when they do that. I wish they would just send my parcel to the ~~Tax~~ customs office and I’ll do the thing with them without being charged some fantasy fees. Just me and the ~~tax~~ customs office and all printed receipts…now you have to somehow call DHL and make them clear they are wrong..
But if you’re lucky it comes with an awkward appointment at the customs where you have to strip the package, hand in piles of papers you had to print out beforehand and answer silly questions.
Probably the sender did a mistake in the customs declaration leading DHL to estimate the value or assume some default
