Theres a few years to go yet, wish these ‚polls‘ would give it a rest till we’re closer.
Apparently they have become a people of idiots.
If Starmer focused on the real domestic issues rather than telling everyone we got no money for new Hospitals (42x cancelled) then increases taxes and then even wants to blow BILLIONs on unnecessary Digital IDs and use the excuse of Illegal Immigration despite this £40 BILLION black hole we keep being told about, it’s no wonder Reform keep growing. Labour need to get fucking serious on domestic issues
it’s crazy how a party can get such an overwhelming majority with like a third of the popular vote, truly a perfect electoral system
What’s pathetic is, there’s a little part of me excited that with a bit more, the LibDems could be official opposition.
Which is utterly rediculous given its only due to the collapse of the Tories & Labour to Reform.
Also, I note Reform UK supports some kind of proportional representation- this massive shift is part due to our FPTP electoral system… so would Reform _actually_ try (voting system) Reform?
Britons once grew weary of Farage and UKIP, pushing the party into near oblivion. Yet now, some years later, they’re lining up behind him again through ~~UKIP 2~~ Reform UK. Did they forget why UKIP collapsed?

This is the inherent problem with politics: short-termism is baked into both manifestos / policies, as well as the mindset of the electorate.
Things must get better IMMEDIATELY!
Long-term, systems change is so often abandoned for short-term, sexy policies just so that there is something immediately tangible for voters to refer to.
Not that I’m saying the current Labour government haven’t been disappointing. It’s just – I’ll reserve my judgment.

I’m not politician or lawyer but it’s ridiculous that we’re allowing a country that wants us and the rest of Europe ruined to influence us.
It feels like we’re being failed if Russia and MAGA can have such influence over us.
Like Brexit, I hope whoever votes reform, doesn’t suddenly get amnesia!

Reform have hopefully peaked too soon. The next UK election should be after Trump is gone from the White House so hopefully there’s an appetite for moving on from that style of politics.

The uk wants to be like America so much it’s chasing them down the “who has the most uneducated populace” race and it’s hard to know who’s gonna win.
Seems the UK voters learned a lot from the shit-show that was/is Brexit, and from the propaganda that lead up to it — NOT!
How can anyone vote for Farage AFTER all the shit he pulled (and is still pulling) is beyond me.

This is not just the UK btw. The UK has a FPTP voting system allowing parties to dominate.
But in the Netherlands the equivalent party won. Trump dominates the entire politics in the US. About to happen in France with le Pen. Afd in Germany is rising. Italy has a right wing government.
It seems all normal Western political parties are absolutely willing to die on the hill of mass migration as a fundamental human right, no matter the consequences for the poorest in our nations. Crazy.

Well, I’m sorry but what did the ppl expect? Illegal migration is an absolute mess. At the same time current government is introducing batshit crazy measures against freedom of speech.
Sure Reform is not the solution but it’s the only party admitting that there are serious problems . All other parties don’t even admit it.

Four years is a long time in politics. There were examples of this in the past when labour were expected to win by a mile but didn’t. The only way this happens is if the proportion of people not voting increases and reform somehow avoids looking like a shambles. Given that they are expected to do well in the council elections next year, there’s plenty of time and opportunity for the Faragetrain to come off the rails yet
Good thing they are out of the EU.
The next election is like 4 years away. We should really stop feeding the „hype“ about Reform upending UK politics.
