Russian shipping is simply an eco disaster waiting to happen. Fuel tankers that split in storms, aircraft carrier that bursts into flames when exposed to oxygen, and now another submarine disaster.

Shouldn’t be hard to find. All the fish will be floating on the surface, pre-cooked and ready to eat.

    3. The title is _slightly_ misleading. This is a diesel-electric submarine that’s capable of carrying nuclear missiles.

      Still not great, either way.

    4. This news article is terrible.
The submarine is a Kilo Class DIESEL electric submarine. It might carry nuclear cruise missiles but there’s no hazard from a power plant accident.

    5. think of the crew – this is a bad way to die

      remember the Kursk?

      # [Kursk submarine disaster – Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kursk_submarine_disaster)

The Russian nuclear submarine K-141 **Kursk** sank in an accident on 12 August 2000 in the Barents Sea, with the loss of all 118 personnel on board.

The submarine, which was of the Project 949A -class (Oscar II class), was taking part in the first major Russian naval exercise in more than 10 years.

      Nuclear ARMED submarine.

It’s a diesel-electric attack sub, they’re going to dump diesel into the sea.

„You will go with the men in the life raftsh. The offishersh and I will shubmerge beneath you… and schcuttle the shhhip.“

    8. It should be easy to figure out:

They say all is fine, it’s a accident.

They say it’s a accident, they did not have a accident but are up to something.

    9. Tnx Russia, unlike planes we don’t have to worry about blowing this one up.

„There are no spare parts for repairs or qualified specialists on the submarine, and the crew is unable to fix the malfunctions“

The entire fucken point of submarines is self sufficiency so it can stay under water.

And this is a nuclear armed one so should be the highest priority.

Suppose this directly reflect the current state of Russia. Torn apart by curroption, apathy and weak economy

putin will let his people die in that trash can rather than seek help to rescue them hes done it before

Jesus fucking christ either at sea or in ukraine these bumbling morons are going to destroy the world by accident arn’t they…

    13. That’s a juicy target of opportunity if it will have to limp back home surfaced.

    14. They have to want to get off. How do you get a crew to want to get off a submarine? How do you get a crew to want to get off a nuclear sub…

Please don’t let the Russians ruin nuclear energy for the rest of us again

Diesel power sub that has the capability to carry only 4 cruise missiles which have conventional or nuclear warheads. Seems possible but unlikely this would be carrying nuclear warheads.

The west should *rescue* it and tow it to a convenient ship yard for further examination, particularly the Russian missiles on board

    18. TestFlyJets on

The headline is a bit alarmist — it’s a diesel electric submarine that has the capability to carry nuclear-armed missiles. Pumping diesel fuel into the ocean is bad, but nothing like pumping radioactive water into the ocean.

    19. Infinite_Patience852 on

Glanced through the article and when saw Kilo class just continued chewing my burrito despite clickbait, misleading headline. Nothing burger story, just old diesel junk, poorly maintained and manned.

    20. It’s not a nuclear submarine, it’s diesel-electric. The article body even says that.

And the problem of fuel leaking is the actual problem and is discussed in the article.

I am not even sure who made the headline – they definitely didn’t read the article.

    21. what does this country do apart from a) kill innocent people and b) be useless as shit at everything else

    22. We already saw this in a Bond flick. Do the writers of this season not realize we know this story?

    23. This is what you get when you tender out ship maintenance to whoever can pay the biggest bribe.
