Seemed like such a great idea when he was hammered.

Edit: *more hammered than normal operating levels.

I gotta say this feels like a classic case of „Higher-ups forgetting what it’s like on the ground floor.“ Seriously, all these long-ass meetings that could’ve legit been a quick email.

Hey now, he ordered a movie quality Wolverine costume for this meeting and everything.

Taking this administration’s words at face value is naive. The meeting won’t be about „warrior ethos,“ it’s going to be something far more sinister. trump has declared war against the US and that’s what this meeting is about, to see which generals and admirals will go along with the invasion.

I’m sure all the senior officers who have been in for 30+ years and deployed 5+ times will appreciate being told how to „be a warrior“ from a drunken Fox News host who got his job cause he sucked off a 79 year old wannabe dictator the hardest

    6. It’s entirely possible that this whole thing is a kickback/patronage scheme to boost a Quantico-area catering company run by a minor Trump toadie.

    7. I can’t imagine a room full of intelligent deeply serious people who have dedicated their lives to service having to listen to this clown tell them what they need to do to motivate their men.. just the ridiculousness of this administration is unbearable.

    8. ShamelessCatDude on

I keep saying this; the Trump administration doesn’t realize Americans, from either party, are too damn lazy to create a civil war or help comply to their wishes

    9. This appears to be a classic case of an incompetent, unqualified person in a leadership position, who focuses on some batshit nonsense within his capacity to understand, then escalates its importance to his reign.

I saw this in the 1990s when my then-employer brought in an unqualified head of an important technical department, and he launched a massive, vitally-important campaign of everyone being forced to assure that their desks were neat and clean. Sad!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS IMPORTANT MATTER!

I wonder how much it cost the taxpayers to mobilize all these folks. Probably way more than a couple of tangerine dream’s golf outings.

    11. The key to happiness, my dearest friends, is to find someone who loves you as much as Pete Hegseth loves saying the word „warfighters“.

    12. sodapopkevin on

Imagine a Major in the National Guard, a guy with a 10 year military career (spread across the last 20-some years), just called the highest ranked and most decorated members of the across all the branches in so he can get a few pictures of himself giving them a speech about ‚warrior culture‘. I would love to see some of the reactions from the people serving on the other half of the world on a carrier in the middle of the ocean that they need to leave their post to travel thousands of miles so Powder Room Pete can tell them what it’s like to fight in the military.

    13. He wasted taxpayers money put national security at risk to make a video for propaganda purposes what a pathetic incompetent drunken mushroom sucker

    14. Stinky_Fartface on

It’s certainly mock-worthy, but I don’t buy it. They are stupid but not so stupid as to bring them all together just to give a pep talk. There’s another agenda we aren’t being told.

    15. Specialist-Day6721 on

This is NOT about being a warrior.

      This is a Loyalty test.

When the order comes to fire on US Citizens, we need to know you will not hesitate.

    16. Due_Two2107 on

I know his direction to gather these groups was ridiculous, but the leaders he brought in are not the type that sit around waiting to be preached at by a halfwit. There are certainly some loyalists that were all about this, but there’s also true americans that know their jobs, and ins and outs of government well that leveraged this circlejerk to make it productive for themselves and units they lead.

    17. The real behind this is so they can film it. It makes for great optics having all of those military generals there.

So there you have it folks, it’s to make more propaganda videos.

    18. In Hegseth’s defense, it REALLY difficult to simultaneously handle the responsibilities of moderating a zoom call and a bottle of vodka.

    19. There will be an oath or promissory requirement coming at the meeting. Some sort of obey Trump/The Commander in Chief above the Constitution because we’re in a national emergency, with those who decline being drummed out, demoted, or ignored in some fashion.

    20. my_boy_blu_ on

If he wasn’t completely hated by the entire military before, he definitely is now.

    21. Sad_Detail404 on

We should all be calling every person on the house budget and armed services committees to ask them how much Pete Hegseth is charging American taxpayers to make a fucking speech

    22. CalligrapherPlane731 on

So it’s what I suspected. Hegseth learned about all-hands meetings from Elon and he wanted to have one of his own.

    23. PleasantWay7 on

Imagine worming so hard to achieve this rank and being forced to leave station to listen to a rambling drunkalog by a guy who has never done anything uncomfortable in his life outside of lying to his family that he would quit drinking.

    24. account_for_norm on

I think about Nazis in this case.

Nazis were not sophisticated. Not even from the point of view if 1932 germany. Hitler was a blabbering buffoon with weird accent, and nazis were incompetent af. And career military ppl knew that. The shock that they and the rest of the germany must have felt when those idiots took over and started controlling everything would have been the same.

The hatred for jews prolly made them overlook their absolute incompetence.

    25. Hegseth sounds like the type of boss to piss all over everything to mark his territory.
