    1. Submission statement: Xenotransplants seem to be becoming more viable. They have gone from early experiments in brain-dead people to now a number of people living for months including the man in this article. There are going to be expanded clinical trials in 2025 and 2026 in the US. So soon there could be tens or hundreds of people living with gene-edited organs. What will that mean for organ diseases (e.g. kidney failure) in the future and the longevity of humans? And why are we focused on growing organs in animals versus lab-grown organs?
