      A golden moment like the -48 war, -67 war, Yom kippur war. Intifada 1 and 2. Or the previous Gaza war?

      All it’s done is leaving Palestinians worse off again. And Israel.

      I wonder if they ever seriously contemplate other ways to better themselves and the region then terror and war.

      I mean the younger generation adores Hamas and sings their praises so it obviously worked. The guy in the photo couldn’t give less of a shit to the people that died, even on his side, so he probably had plenty of reason to be happy.

      I’m not defending Israel in any way. But this really shows what they’re trying to negotiate with. Hamas has absolutely no regard for the Palestinian people. I mean he says the civilians are proud to sacrifice themselves for the cause, and then completely dismisses video of Palestinians demanding hamas step down

      In this interview, the CNN interviewer showed him a video of children and civilians in Gaza pleading with Hamas leaders to surrender and end the war. The reporter slammed him on it and this tub of lard proceeded to just stutter and then try to redirect back to his crazed rant about how he’s actually the good guy, completely ignoring his people’s pleas.

      How these people sleep at night amazes me, evil in the world is just so disgusting.

      This man is human garbage, but what makes it worse is that he might not be wrong.

      In September alone, France, Canada, and the UK have acknowledged the Palestine state. It came at the cost of countless suffering, but this psychopath seems to be getting what he wanted.

      Ignoring the monstrosity of these guys (which we should not do), I just don’t see anything aside from pure copium where this actually puts Palestine closer to statehood and an end to the occupation.

      I guess people can say „well Israel is isolated now“, and there’s some element of truth to that, but the idea that will have any permanence ignores the history of international relations / geopolitics. This war will end soonish, and when it does Israel will rebuild its standing with its traditional Western allies.

      As proof of this note that after Russia seized Crimea, despite all the stern words, much of its economic ties and trading links to the West were back in pretty much full swing until they invaded Ukraine again. The world forgives bad behavior if you can act nice for even a small amount of time.

      Hell, anyone remember Free Tibet? Everyone trades on mass scale with China now and no one talks about Tibet.

      I’m not a genius nor do I pretend to have all the answers, but I know that the approach of Gandhi and Mandela actually won their people independence, I don’t see a scenario where extreme Islamic terrorism is going to be the thing that gets nuclear-armed Israel (which is never going to just „disappear“) to agree to real discussions on statehood.
