    1. If you’re going to complain about people courting, you’re not allowed to complain about depressed birth rates.

Aside from the threat of death for you, your family and anyone you know why don’t the people take down the whole government?

    3. “My affection for you is merely as great as my affection for Dear Leader, whom I love more than life itself.
Please don’t feed me to Dear Leader.”

    4. If you have enough love remaining in your heart to tell someone else „I love you“, then you have committed treason, as you have not willingly given all your love to our Dear Leader.

So Donald Trump should be in a NK prison camp for signing his letters to Kim with …
      „Love You “
      Donald

    6. For some reason my mind skipped over NK, and thought this article was about America for a sec. I believed it.

Edit: aw those cute delusional Americans are downvoting me lol

The appropriate phrase should be “I love The Supreme Leader as much as you do!”

This is like one of those closed societies, controlled by a computer, that Captain Kirk and crew often liberated in the original Star Trek series.

    9. Reminds me of a dystopian book, where the foundation of the regime was the total breakdown of the family as an institution. Couples were mandated by the governement, love was unlikely and frown upon, and children were taken from their parents at birth to be raised in governement-controlled institutions.

… I can’t help but feel sorry for the writers of the decades right before 2k, giving all their imagination and brainpower to create dystopian world for our enjoyment as readers, only to realize 50 years later that their work are now tabletop reading for every autoritarian regime in the world.

    10. ‚The deputy head of the factory’s Socialist Patriotic Youth League committee called the letter evidence of a “decadent lifestyle imbued with capitalist views of love” and immediately organized an ideological struggle session.‘

‚During the session, the letter writer was condemned for his “rotten spirit” and forced to publicly criticize himself in front of fellow members.‘

‚Other league members watched the struggle session with disgust, like they were chewing rotten cucumbers.”‘

I have no idea if this is a satirical website.

    11. Dumb as fuck. But in America we have half the country voting everyone into facism because we worry about which bathrooms someone uses.

You can incest rape a kid in Texas and legally force them to have your child. Our own president has been found guilty of many crimes, and god knows how many more he’s committed. Fox News wants us to kill the homeless.

Laugh it up while you can America. You’re next.

I used to think “how backward” when reading about NK. These days I think we’re sounding just like them. Shit.

    16. Copularion is a necessary function to keep the family unit strong and the worker class vibrant!

This article is from a publication called „daily NK“ that is ranked 179 out of 180 in the 2025 World Press Freedom Index and is funded mostly by the National Endowment of Democracy which is an NGO funded by the US to do stuff the CIA can’t get away with anymore. Yes, obviously, North Korea is rife with problems and corruption, but this is propoganda friends.

    18. Ah, right, if „a source“ has told that to DailyNK, a US-funded outlet with a history of spreading unhinged news about North Korea later proved to be false, then it must certainly be so.
