I am surprised it is so bad in Poland. Most people talk about the issues in southern europe, but Poland is just as bad, but I guess they have gotten into this issue more recently

A worldwide phenomenon. There is no longer any industrial country capable of reproducing the population. Almost all emerging countries are no longer able to reproduce, or things are even worse like in China or Korea. We are marching towards a planet of old people and exterminating ourselves…

People are crying over this. It is fine. We will not become extinct because of this. Fever or more people, we can achieve great things anyway.

Traditional regions are in lead, not surprising.
If we dont count Dalmatia.

Is it just me or is the colour-scheme somewhat confusing when you glance at the map for the first time? Green might have been a better choice, or anything else really

This makes me think of when 6 years ago I was travelling a lot to rural areas for work, and in a village in one of Italy’s ‚whitest‘ regions (Basilicata) an old woman in a small grocery store showed me a kid who might have been 6 or 7 and told me „that’s the last child who was born here“

When PiS started giving out those 500 zloty per month per child you kinda expected people to herd kids as a source of income. Either the situation was even worse in Poland before that or it didn’t have the desired effect. Either way, Poland looks surprisingly cooked.

I wonder why women opt for no kids. With this economy who can afford to stay at home? Which employer will back and support you? Which partner will really take over your load. Most men suck really hard postpartum. I fled italy because I was earning so little to form any family. Now I have 1 baby and Im completely done. No help from anyone, besides my love for my child I gained nothing. I see europe falling much behind

Just build housing. High rents are depressing young people’s fortunes and quite literally depressing their spirits. More practically, being stuck with your parents or in a cramped 1 bed flat is not the ideal environment that makes people get baby fever.
They need a spare room, that they walk past and think about every so often. The solutions to this are subtle. The “payments to new moms” just goes to people who were already planning to have children.
