    1. Oh thank God. I’m not worried now. Pack it up boys, RUSSIA is helping China. This is going to be an unmitigated disaster for both.

Why would China want to invade Taiwan when 65% to 80% of the people are Chinese, and China is Taiwan’s biggest trading partner now that the U.S. has abandoned them.

    3. Oh seems plausible, sandbagging weapons and using old stockpiles in Ukraine. Hmm hmm hmmmmmm

      Russia be like

Invading another country, This is how it’s done.

      China be like

Thanks, we definitely will not do it that way.

    5. I’ve travelled to Taiwan (and China) many many times over the last 20 years, and this stuff is literally nothing new since those 20 years.

China won’t ever risk their entire internal, and world market for Taiwan, if they ever ‚get‘ Taiwan they’ll do it via business and political means.

China is fishing in a LOT of lakes, why would they throw it all away for that little island (that also gets them a LOT of business). All of their other claims and mafia like hustling would become impossible because the husle-ees now can use force. Those ships pissing off fishing boats in the south seas? Valid targets. Efforts in Africa? Valid targets etc…

China and Taiwan are married to each other whether either side likes that or not.

The article is amusing as well. Fast airborne operations? Those will only end one way as they fly over ~125km of open sea towards Taiwan. The only training needed would be swimming lessons. And what experience does russia have with their 3 year 3 day operation with those?

    6. so… sending even more minorities to the meat grinder while crying NATO is violating peace agreements?

Does China need advise from a fading power which has been waging an ineffective war for 3 years destroying almost its entire military? It’s only Trumps ineptitude that Russia hasn’t lost.

    9. Cheeky_Star on

Xi already said in his lifetime he will reunite Taiwan to the mainland after conquering Hong Kong.

So regardless of what Russia is doing, it’s already in the plans.

    10. MikeInPajamas on

Are they on Taiwan’s side, then? Sabotaging China?

Because their invasion planning and execution skills are not good.

    11. Frankenthe4th on

Wait for Trump to call the Taiwanese President and Government a dictatorship that shouldn’t have allowed itself to be invaded….

    12. gentleman_bronco on

Well….yeah. Invading Ukraine and the paltry defense the rest of the world has given them was casus belli.

    13. TheOneAndOnlyPriate on

You know what? If russia want to help china how to plan and execute naval warfare operation, let them. The black sea fleet treatment from a navyless oponent would suit chinas navy well if they dared

    14. If the. Chinese take military advice from Russia they’ll be fucked. The Russian military is an incompetent and corrupt shit show.

„Don’t worry bro, you can do it in three days. Not even a war; just a special military operation“

    17. If China takes over Taiwan, Americans are quickly going to figure out they absolutely have no ability to create things, and their lifestyle will drastically change, we will go into civil war.

      > Russia has agreed to equip and train a Chinese airborne battalion and share its expertise in airdropping armored vehicles that analysts say could boost Beijing’s capacity to seize Taiwan, according to newly obtained documents that show the two nations’ deepening military cooperation.

This is a nothing article. They are allies and should be sharing military information. No where does it actually state China is invading Taiwan.

    19. not_just_putin on

All of this could be easily avoided if the West helped Ukraine win. Now we’ll only have more and more wars.

    20. ImjustANewSneaker on

What insight does Russia have on a operation that is completely different and much more complex to do?

    21. Ange1ofD4rkness on

With what army and hardware (Russia that is)?

Does China also know not to touch the US’s boats?

    22. Running-With-Cakes on

I’m sure China really needs help from a country that can’t even invade it’s much smaller neighbour

    23. Documents leaked and reviewed by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) show Russia agreed to train a Chinese airborne battalion and sell China equipment (airdrop-capable vehicles, parachute systems, etc.)

that could help in an airborne assault scenario.

    24. TheInfiniteSlash on

If I’m China and being serious about invading Taiwan, the last country I’m listening to on how to invade someone is Russia.

They should try asking the US and see what happens. Would have a better result than asking Russia for help

    25. DocMcCracken on

Russia is helping prepare China to attack Russia. Taiwan will fight back and will be such a high cost. Taiwan will be back burnered for a litle while longer.

Russia has the resources China needs, espcially fresh water. Russia already has depleted arms from grinding into Ukraine. No one is going to object to China helping themselves to Russian lands politically. Moving on Siberia would be easier to accomplish militarily and politically.

    26. Would be interesting to see what happens when the only two superpowers in the world actually fight a war.

This is why Trump is so interested in Intel, if he solves the chip issues, he could care less.

    28. DiligentCredit9222 on

Given the track record of Russia’s weapons. I would rather say: „sabotaging China“.

If Russia helps you, it’s like swimming with an anvil…

I’m definitely against wars, but I think China would definitely have better chances WITHOUT Russia’s „help“
Unless they plan on teaching China how to loose their flag ship and two submarines (one on land) against a country without Navy…

    29. China just needs to watch what Russia is doing in Ukraine, and do the opposite

    30. And the US won’t do anything about it, it that it should but it will only “impose sanctions” that we all known don’t work

    31. pepperino132 on

With what, some rusty old tanks and teaching them how to send out mass condolence letters to family more efficiently?

    32. CamiloArturo on

How would Russia help China (a country with much more military, much more logistics, money, etc) prepare for a war when they’ve sucked deeply on the only one they are having right now?

    33. faceintheblue on

China? Without supporting your war aims, can I say I wouldn’t be taking invasion advice from Russia? Their three-day invasion of a place they share a land border with has been going on three years now, and they lost their Black Sea fleet to a country without a navy. Taiwan is going to be much, much harder in a way Russia has no valid experience or advice to offer that you would want to build into your own plans.
