Years and years of undermining workers, misleading framing of finances, bloated managerial salaries, and unnecessary cuts have let to this. It’s a march towards privatization and shitty service. Might as well roll out the carpet for Amazon who will gouge you and never stop eating away at your wallet.

Ending home deliveries to the richest part of town seems like a fair cost cutting measure. should have ended long ago. Basically have a two tiered mail system for a long time with often those living in the old well-off part of the city still getting mail delivered to their homes while everyone else uses community mailboxes.
Makes sense considering the decline of mail volumes.
Apparently the Post Office is on track to lose $1.5 B just this year alone. The measures outlined in the article will save $400M. This remains, at least to me, an unsustainable money pit. More has to be done to make this sustainable. Personally, I don’t feel like daily deliveries to my community box are hardly necessary.

This would seem to be the total answer to the only legitimate objection—or at least the only one I can think of—to this sensible measure. And I say this as someone who, apart from my time living in residence while at school, has always had home mail delivery.
One time I tried looking up at what it would cost to mail something privately via FedEx to Moosonee. The FedEx website crashed, because they have not contemplated the possibility
