Yes people should keep talking about elections and expecting one but I personally feel something’s going to happen rendering the coming election either fraudulent or nonexistent.

The midterms will be the real test. Trump knows that statistically the party in power loses the midterms, worse more so when they are running things as badly as they are. He also knows if he loses the house, or senate, or both that he is going to have trouble doing what he wants. So you will see if it happens, truthfully he has already started messing with it with his crap in Texas.
Elections are run by the states. If certain states choose not to participate, that is up to them. Where we will have problems is seating the newly elected president, and the transfer of power. The other scenario is Vance will probably be president before the election, one way or another. He will then be running as an incumbent, and may think he has an advantage, and will let the elections proceed, and the republicans will pull out all the stops with their cheating.
There will be elections. But they’ll be monitored by ICE. They’ll be made much harder to vote in. They’ll be made in-person only, no mail-in. They’ll be tampered with. And they won’t be free and fair.

Trump has harped on Zelensky for not holding elections while under seige in Ukraine, but a crisis for Trump would be a hangnail, no ketchup, rain falling on his gorgeous hair and orange skin,or low pressure in one tire of his golf cart. He’s declaring national emergencies left and right and in two years, as prospective candidates of all parties and of no party are getting ready to launch their bids, he’ll declare that the USA is in crisis and will suspend all elections. I have an idea that could save Madison County some money. I emailed the Madison County commissioners, but I did not hear a word. So, I thought maybe you could get behind this idea. This idea would take a few years to plan and to implement.
If I understand this correct Madison County holds elections 3 out of 4 years.
No vote year (2025)
Midtem vote (2026)
Municipal elctions (2027)
Presendital election (2028)
This suggestion: I would suggest move this to the midterm 2nd year election. Too much change during the presidentatl election. This was personal view.

My suggestion is make a law in Madison county where the Municipal election is moved to align with the Midterm elections or Presendial elections.
Most people do not understand the election process. Here is my example when I worked at the poles. Every year it appear a few people the Town of Edgewood would stop at the poles and wanted to vote for the mayor of Anderson. We would tell them you have a Town Board and you don’t have anybody to vote this election cycle.
I understand that to get this done that it will take an elected official to have an extra time or maybe shorten time elected, but this would be a 1 time case. I understand this will not be done immedate, but with a good set of minds this would be a way to simplify things and save the county future cost.
My thought is a full grow shade tree, you need to thank the person who planted this tree many years ago.

But I don’t believe Trump is making it to 2028. He’s nearly 80 years old, obese, a horrible diet, zero exercise. He already has congestive heart failure, poor blood circulation, swollen ankles, and constant bruising from blood thinner IVs. Dude looks like absolute shit. Plus he’s been having strokes and frontal temporal dementia…it’s obvious when he talks. He will not have the fortitude to pull off a coup 3.5years from now and JD does not have the juice to step in to rally his own dictatorship.
Of course that’s an obvious anxiety. We all have, but I kind of feel like Gavin Newsom being the opportunistic Neo Lib that he is says that so he can drum up more fundraising.
