Essentially he knows its stupid but can’t come out and say it without losing his US evangelical donors.
sounds like he’s doubting world renowned pharmacologist and autism expert, professor Donald Trump.
Farage knows its bullshit but he’s afraid to say so. Terrified of upsetting Trump by saying so and terrified of being exposed as a spreader of misinformaton if he backs Trump. So, in his usual courageous way, he runs away from the question.
If he could link paracetamol to immigrants, then he would have lots of ideas.

Obviously paracetamol doesn’t cause autism, if your only evidence is a guy who previously told people to inject bleach i think we are safe to discount his opinion.

Well fair enough if he’s saying he as an ex commodities trader he isn’t sufficiently armed to deal with opinions on medicine. The problem is that he reckons that he understands demographics, psychology, social sciences etc that all go into understand immigration – as this same ex commodities trader.

So the usual mealy mouthed cowardly bullshit from Farage/Reform. Can’t just openly say what he means but has to blow a quick little dog whistle to reassure the crusty conspiracy nuts that he’s still on side.
In principle saying that he doesn’t know would be fine, because I assume he doesn’t know. „Knowing“ would require a bit of study and thought, which would be too much work for him.
But in reality he says he doesn’t know but then mentions thalidomide, which is not at all innocent.
And the research evidence is probably too subtle for him. There certainly is a fairly well established correlation (which scientists do sometimes refer to as a „link“) between acetaminophen in pregnancy and a risk of neurological disorder in the infant, but there are lots of good reasons why that might not be a *causative* link.
So the question is currently being investigated carefully and, as yet, the possibility of a small risk has not been entirely ruled out.
Whereas thalidomide was cancelled pretty quickly – in the UK after three years of use – as the problems with it became extremely clear very fast.
That alone should disqualify him from any position of responsibility.
