Incompetence mixed with arrogance, anger, and misplaced blame.

It is a fairly fitting anecdote that sums up the Trump administration.

    2. Trump doesn’t hire for competency, only loyalty. And competent people tend to know better than to have unwavering loyalty to someone who will betray you in a second the first chance they get.

The official added that the teleprompter that Trump was so upset about was also being operated by his White House…“

Sounds about right. He surrounds himself with incompetent yes-men and then blames that incompetence on someone else.

    5. Team Trump: „Get out of the way, you don’t know what you’re doing. We have the best people. We’re not like you foreigners.“

UN Staff: (blinking) „Okay, it’s your show bud.“

Externalizing attribution for all negative outcomes|experiences is second nature for Trump and his sycophants.

I just assumed the elevator gave out under the strain of his weight, just like his ankles.

„We traced the call: the incompetence is coming from *inside* the house!“

    9. If/when this nightmare ends they should really commission a study into just how ineffective the average federal exployee became under Trump.

Trump attacked and forced out anyone even remotely competent. Things like clearly illegal orders and dictator like loyalty pledges had all the intelligent people running for the doors.

If you’ve ever wanted to commit a federal crime, now would be the time. The FBI is far less likely to catch you now that they’re run and staffed by straight up Trump cultists.

    10. My first thought was that it was his team that botched all these things. He knows this, he just lies and blames everything on other people

Planned so he could rant against the UN. He was at the bottom when the escalator stopped , climbing up instead of using the working escalator right beside him.

Here’s a joke to start your day:

How many MAGAs does it take to work an escalator?

Three. One to operate the controls, one to go up the escalator, and one to complain about Hilary Clinton’s emails.

Guess I was right in what I was assuming in some of my previous comments:

      > So, I’ve seen this video from a lot of angles. How about the angle of the photographer from Trump’s team who was ahead of him, walking backwards on the escalator to take a photo of him going up?
      >
      > Because I’m thinking the guy kept doing it well out of the frame of the video and accidentally hit the emergency escalator stop button by stepping on it. That now, they aren’t admitting to it because just like the teleprompter incidence it illustrates the sort of incompetence Trump is bringing with him to events because he prices loyalty over competence. And in true Trump fashion, they’d rather burn bridges than slightly smidge their dear leader.

    14. Velvet_Samurai on

Yeah, but once Kristi Noem gets involved she’ll find the trans liberal terrorist who was actually involved in the attempted assassination of Donald Trump using an escalator. Either that or they’ll just blame Hunter Biden. Either way.

    15. Which would barely have mattered to a normal leader, who would shake their head and smile and say „nothing’s going my way today, ha ha“ and then get on with their life.

I’m glad to hear that, apparently we were on the verge of bombing or gassing the place. You know Trump gets a lot of his shitty ideas from fox 🦊

Edit. When I went to this story, I also the news on the trial of Ryan Routh, who was just convicted on five charges regarding his attempt to assassinate Trump, and is facing life in prison. His daughter got loud and said it was all rigged, and some other stuff I don’t remember.

Manufactured outrage. And it got Fox commentators promoting the destruction of the UN building

    18. Once more the man is made a fool by his own words. I bet none are surprised by this.

    19. It’s obvious by now that trump is predictably vicious when he’s crossed or opposed, so even while hoping he was sabotaged by someone at the UN, it would be too dangerous.

Still enjoyed his embarrassment at not ascending like a king on the escalator, forced to do a perp walk instead

The escalator is regretting supporting him as he rode down to announce his candidacy for the 2016 election.

Ineptitude is a hallmark of Trump, apparently it must be for his sycophants also. Idiot, inept, cruel, all could be searched and it would come up with Trumps name.

You can’t convince me this wasn’t done intentionally so he had something to complain about…

    23. VexedCanadian84 on

I wouldn’t put it past Trump if he wanted the mishaps to happen so he could blame the UN.

Another thing to distract from the Epstein files

    24. Didn’t Leavitt call for those responsible to be fired immediately? Any update on that?

    25. Okay maga and Fox News, you said you wanted to bomb and gas those responsible? You have your target.

    26. PopularTask2020 on

So Fox News is gonna retract the statement about bombing the UN, right?….. right?

    27. delusiongenerator on

Nonetheless, we’re still probably getting an executive order by the end of the week declaring the escalator maintenance company a terrorist organization…

    28. ImaginationToForm2 on

I was hoping it was Deep State using our Turn Off Escalators and Teleprompters Machine. I bet Trump will still blame Radical-Left for it.

    29. DrCatholicGuilt on

Honestly glad his teleprompter was off. He was forced to speak by himself which his team famously don’t want because he will rant nonsense beyond the narrative.

And thats what the world saw. Just looked like a babbling old man.

It’s only at the end of his speech you can tell the promoter turns on because his dialect totally changes and he keeps turning left and right to read what he is told.

Also, saying „Bye“ at the end of a speech to the UN is hilarious. It’s something a 4 year old does

    30. Affectionate_Fee3411 on

It’s a fucking escalator. When it stops you instantly have..a flight of stairs. I fail to see the drama here.

    31. I bet the escalator and teleprompter stopped because of Biden, Obama, Hillary.
