I never liked these two and I am absolutely outraged by this. Outraged that yet again they are needlessly appearing on my feed after doing nothing wrong other than making some money.

Their company which employs people, pays taxes and other overheads may have got paid this. Standard business/advertising is it not? No wonder this country has so much begrudgery with articles like this
I mean it’s a job that has to be done and sponsorships are nothing new for content creators and podcasters, so not sure why this is news.
Ironically, 2 johnnies is how most of the drugs are smuggled into prison.

I don’t like them.
However, the prison services are looking for more people. How much is a bunch of TV, Radio, Bus Shelter etc advertisements going to cost? Younger people don’t tend to watch RTE anymore. Their audience is 40+ and are not going to become prison guards.
Their podcast is directed at young people, mostly rural and has a large audience. The rural market is probably better because if you are from the cities, you’re never too far away from somebody who knows somebody in the crime world.
It’s a chunk of their marketing budget spent well, IMO.

I wouldn’t wish the job of a prison officer on anyone and that’s coming from someone who’s done time. They get decent money but it’s a job that turns people into cunts.

Good job by the prison service. If I’m right they have a good few staffing issues, and 25k isn’t exactly a huge sum to try to help address it with.
