She’s one of the few (or the only) standard bearers for decency in all this. Condemning political violence does not mean you should honor the hateful, bigoted, anti-democratic views of someone who had, in his turn, celebrated political violence.
She needs to continue to rail against Erika Kirk, as there is nothing so pathetic as a widowed young mother. That will get middle America voting for the Progressive left in droves!

I applaud her for this. The insistence that Charlie Kirk, a demagogue, bigot, and advocate for political violence, was worthy of being honored for what he did is nothing short of infuriating.
Sadly, the fact that so many Democrats voted „Yes“ on this resolution shows how weak, unfocused and worthless the Democratic Party has become.

The tragic part here is AOC being the only one willing to tell the truth about this stuff just goes to show you how far from away ready most of the country is for a leader like her.
I don’t agree with everything she says but she is totally right here. Charlie Kirk was a MAGA fascist. His death doesn’t change that. It’s extremely dangerous to canonize a person with those characteristics.
The fact that the whole party can’t agree on this is so damning. STAND FOR SOMETHING.

Thoughts and Prayers for the family of Charlie Kirk. As Americans, we abhor acts of violence or terrorism for political purposes. This isn’t who we are, we shouldn’t celebrate political violence. That said, Kirk will not be missed by most Americans. While we would rather he not be assassinated, honestly the world is slightly better off without him.

There are very few Democrats with a spine. People need to start actually doing their civic duty and participate in primaries.
Most of the Dems are not equipped for the modern era of fighting the MAGA threat to the USA, and as such MAGA will advance unopposed, and Trump will slowly take America down into a dictatorship.
There are not enough AOCs among the Dems to fight back effectively.
AOC wasn’t the only Dem. It would be nice to highlight the rest so it doesn’t seem like the entire party is lost. There is a healthy contingent of resistance.
My sisters in Michigan give slotkin a pass saying she’s in a purple state. I don’t understand how that should come into play. Non of the slain kids, Hortman were similarly treated. It’s an obvious maga move. Should not be.
A murdered asshole, while tragic, is still an asshole.
She knows that two things can be true.
1. You can abhor political violence.
2. You can also abhor the words and actions of someone who is the victim of it.
AOC is saying the right things, unfortunately it will fall on deaf ears. As much as I like her and what she says, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not try and run her as a democratic candidate for POTUS. In this country, at this time, she will not win.
Jasmine Crockett has been pretty good as well.

She also stood by Biden in 2024 when the donors and others were calling for his head. I’ll always respect her for that.
She put out an accurate video stating that donors and white Democrats „wanted both Biden and Kamala gone.“ That was pretty courageous at that time.

She’s grown into a great candidate. I would hope she hires competent people to surround her (one of Bernie’s biggest mistakes was hiring abject freaks and losers). I’d have no problem supporting her for higher office.
You can tell she’s working her ass off to fight for her country. Look at her. She looks wrecked.
