I’m just curious if homicide is the only crime that matters?
This is where „per capita“ falls apart. Deploying the national guard in an effort to prevent 200 murders in Mississippi or to Illinois where you could try to prevent over 800, the majority of which happen in one city.
I can’t wait for a report to come out that proves these deployments did nothing but waste money, but I know those who would most need to read it definitely won’t.

He’s not doing this to stop crime, he’s doing this to desensitize the people to an armed military presence and to see which units are loyal enough to do what is requested.

It has nothing to do with crime as we know it. He’s after „thought crimes“ perpetrated by liberals who tend to populate large cities. In this way he feeds red-meat to his base and gets to falsely claim he’s a law and order president.
All this does is contain crime to areas they aren’t worried so much about (the poor hoods) until they leave. it doesn’t address the root cause of these crimes.
Trump has also specifically threatened to send troops to St Louis, Kansas City, and Detroit, and has sent troops to Memphis.
The goal is to get citizens used to federal troops in cities so when the administration creates an excuse they will declare martial law.
And only in blue states, of course.
