Ich habe noch nie von ihnen gehört, aber ich bin ein begeisterter Zauberer, also habe ich mir die Ehrlich Brothers live angesehen. Ich war überrascht, wie rückständig die Präsentation teilweise war. Es brauchte viel Inspiration (und Zaubertricks) von David Copperfield. Solche Sachen hat er in den 90ern gemacht. Guter Trick, aber die sexuellen Witze mit den Zuschauern sind mittlerweile veraltet. Copperfield ließ sie fallen, als er Ende der 90er Jahre 40 wurde.
Die Ehrlich Brothers sind Mitte 40 und machen das auch im Jahr 2024 immer noch – sie kommentieren die Brüste von Zuschauern und bitten um einen Kuss "wenn der Trick funktioniert"indem sie den (weiblichen) Zuschauer auffordert, ihm tief in die Augen zu schauen, während er ihre Karte findet usw.
Das letzte Mal, dass ich so etwas gesehen habe, war, als ein Freund von mir beitrat "die Pick-up-Artist-Szene" in 2007.
Für mich ist es sehr konserviert, veraltet und erschreckend. Aber ich bin ein Außenseiter, der seinen kulturellen Hintergrund aus den USA mitbringt und kein deutsches Fernsehen schaut.
Ist es also normal, in deutschen Medien die Brüste einer Frau zu kommentieren, die man noch nie zuvor getroffen hat, oder sie um Küsse zu betteln?

While i don’t have a concrete answer for you, I can only imagine it might be due it being simply targeted at older more conservative audiences that are used to the old stuff and don’t want the „new hip“ stuff

Germany is a bit behind the US in this regard.
Other side of the coin is that Germany is not quite as hysterical (a problematic word in this context, I know; sorry) about sexuality than the US is, so things like this are generally seen as less harmful than in the US (still bad taste though).
No, it isn’t particularly normal, you picked a bad show to go see. Why do people think that one random show represents all of Germany?
It is unfortunately still very common. German TV is geared towards old people and for them blatant sexism is normal, they totally freak out if you call it out because you dare come with the woke new idea of equality.
And you will find that in every TV show. I’ve recently watched an episode of Tatort and they took things like an equal opportunity commissioner in STEM academia totally out of context, made the female character reproduce sexism, disregard a female student under attack from a professor and laugh about her job with said sexist professor. My mother in her 70s laughed her ass off, I was horrified.
A lot of German comedians also built their entire careers and shows on sexism (Mario Bart and Oliver Pocher for example) and still draw crowds with it. Just don’t watch German TV aside from news, it’s horrible.

There are two parts of an answer to this:
1. The Ehrlich Brothers are like the Schlagerfestival of Magic. Their shows are geared towards a certain kind of audience. The kind of audience who would call us woke idiots for calling the jokes on the show backwards and sexist.
2. Many women in that particular demographic think the Ehrlich guys are sexy and attractive and actually like to be part of this kind of „jokes“. I would even go out on a limb and say they might lose fans if they changed their show to be more modern.

Ah I see. Coming from the darkest pits of trash TV in Germany. No, „magicians“ nor this kind of it is well known in Germany nor liked in my bubble at least. Did not even know something like this exists anymore.
“Stuck in the 90s” + “Germany” = yes.
I’ve always found their performances to be „cringe“. A few years ago, they were trying to appeal to the younger audience, making their show annoying as hell. The tricks themselves are normally well done, but their patter, costumes, etc. are all really annoying.
That said, I’m old. I saw Sigfried & Roy perform in Las Vegas in 2001, and was very disappointed by their show as well. Again, the tricks were well done, but Sigfried and Roy both looked tired and almost bored during the show. It lacked „enthusiasm“ given that I had paid nearly $100 for the ticket.
I would love to see Penn & Teller’s show before they retire … I’m hoping to get to Vegas to see them next year!

One person’s cringe is another person’s top tier entertainment. This goes for all kinds of cringe andall kinds of entertainment. I don’t think believing that „cringe“ would be some kind of objective measure is useful.
So the simple answer really is: Apparently enough people like that kind of program that there is still money to be made with it.

Never heard of them, but in Germany, bad sexist jokes can fill the largest stadiums we have. Worst offender (IMO) is Mario Barth. „Sex sells“ I guess.
