well it’s also „really illegal“ to rape kids with Jeffrey Epstein

So what he’s really saying is that we shouldn’t pay attention to:

      – His history of sexual abuse of women and girls.
      – The corrupt dealings with Israel to build a resort in Gaza.
      – The massive grift and stock manipulation perpetrated by his family.
      – The acceptance of bribes from foreign nations.
      – How he’s destroying the US economy.
      – The fact that most people are worse off after he returned to the White House (except his rich friends).
      – His on-going treasonous relationship with Putin.
      – How he continues to wipe his putrid ass on the constitution.

“Journalists” is a really heavy weight here.

The fact that he can so flippantly refer to journalists in a way that feels like he’s referring to podcasters is the real threat.

Can we make decorum a part of our modern language again?

Convicted Felon proves again that he really does not know right from wrong.

„It’s really, really illegal. You won’t believe how illegal it is. The most illegal– you couldn’t even imagine how illegal. I didn’t even know it was illegal until the other day, a guy came up to me with tears in his eyes and he said, ‚Sir, why are you letting these journalists walk all over you like this? Why don’t you prosecute them or something? You can do that. You’re the president of the United States and they’re saying nasty things about you. Nasty and UNTRUE things. It’s really illegal, what they’re doing.'“

      — Trump, probably.

    6. Line 3 of the Hitter play book. Target the press. Everything is falling into place for the new fascist regime to have complete control of the country. WAKE UP PEOPLE.

So the constitution itself is now invalid, the tyranny increases day by day. trump and his cronies are attacking the freedom of the press not only with comments like these, but by also abusing the powers of the FCC to take over media outlets such as CBS and CNN. There are very few major media outlets that remain independent. *Freedom of speech* and *freedom of the press* have been under relentless attack, especially over the past two weeks.

But don’t call it fascism, that would mean you’re antifa, a catch-all phrase for the fascists to label anyone they disagree with as a terrorist.

      Founding fathers would disagree.

“If all printers were determined not to print anything till they were sure it would offend nobody, there would be very little printed.” Benjamin Franklin

“To the press alone, chequered as it is with abuses, the world is indebted for all the triumphs which have been gained by reason and humanity over error and oppression.” Thomas Jefferson

Did someone tell him that it’s only illegal under fascist/dictatorial regimes?

    10. Cautious-Ant3089 on

I’m a fairly right person and I think is total crap to. He should not be saying this. Any good president should be open to criticism.

Remember when Jeff Bezos declared the Washing Post would only run editorials extolling „personal liberties and free markets“? I bet the Post got them typewriters a clackin right now.

    12. Ok_Blacksmith_3030 on

But it was fine for Fox and other right wing media to attack President Biden every day?

    13. Every day we fall further into fascism and not one republican stands up and says this is wrong. Free speech is eroding at record pace. The only amendment safe is the second. The 22nd will be swept into the ashcan of history if we do nothing. They will do everything they can to get him a third term, they have already started in congress… Will it pass?

    14. “To announce that there must be no criticism of the president… is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Juat gonna say this, even though it should not be needed: It’s **not** illegal to give negative coverage to an administration *in a democracy*.

More people need to see this

This attack on media is probably the biggest thing his own supporters disagree with him on

There are 2 parts on that page regarding law and policy that are of particular interest here: freedom of speech section and criticism section, but everyone should probably read all the rest too. I’ll quote these two sections here though:

“The FCC and Freedom of Speech. The First Amendment, as well as Section 326 of the Communications Act, prohibits the Commission from censoring broadcast material and from interfering with freedom of expression in broadcasting. The Constitution’s protection of free speech includes programming that may be objectionable to many viewers or listeners. Therefore, the FCC cannot prevent the broadcast of any particular point of view. In this regard, the Commission has observed that “the public interest is best served by permitting free expression of views.” However, the right to broadcast material is not absolute. There are some restrictions on the material that a licensee can broadcast. These restrictions are discussed below.”

“Criticism, Ridicule, and Humor Concerning Individuals, Groups, and Institutions. The First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of speech similarly protects programming that stereotypes or may otherwise offend people with regard to their religion, race, national background, gender, or other characteristics. It also protects broadcasts that criticize or ridicule established customs and institutions, including the government and its officials. The Commission recognizes that, under our Constitution, people must be free to say things that the majority may abhor, not only what most people may find tolerable or congenial. However, if you are offended by a station’s programming, we urge you to make your concerns known in writing to the station licensee.”

It’s really hard for them to not to when he says stupid shit like this.

Except it’s not illegal. Fragile ego man-child Trump can’t handle any criticism.

    20. That’s nice and all, but it isn’t. Like I just think about all the presidents before him who sat by while getting torn apart in media and made fun of constantly and criticized constantly for any little thing. And now you have the biggest man child imaginable saying it’s illegal to accurately cover how terrible this admin is in every way. And his followers think this is manly somehow.

    21. ExpertReference2979 on

      No, it’s 100% legal. It’s illegal in Trump’s mind.

He’s un-American. But he was raised by a slumlord and learned a lot of tricks from Roy Cohn so I’m not surprised by this.
