USA is heavily exporting its culture no matter which president is in the White House, nothing has changed, just the export have different colour now
In ideal world we should have significantly lowered our dependence on USA long before Trump, but in reality nothing will change in the current zeitgeist. We are the junior partner, and a vassal state, that’s the uncomfortable truth, and that’s the current world order and distribution of power.
The imperialistic, authoritarian culture is shared between the US and Russia. Just think about how similar their ideologies are of „manifest destiny“ and „Third Rome“. That’s why they can’t stand a liberal, secular Europe that both consider their pré carré, and why both support the europhobic parties P4E and ENS that are trying to destroy us from the inside.
But that’s also why we shouldn’t consider that it’s only Trump who is waging this culture war. Even without him, we would still have an issue with those who elected him twice, and with those who wrote his project. It is well known that the Heritage Foundation wants to destroy the EU, hence Trump’s open hostility towards it.
