Honestly, it doesn’t feel like it matters at this point. It feels like most people are at that point where the only science they listen to is the one that confirms their existing beliefs and everything else is Big Whatever’s agenda to manipulate the masses.
That isn’t a human body. It’s room temperature jello with a plastic skeleton inside it. I’m sure you don’t know this, nor do youtubers making these videos, but ballistic gelatin is supposed to be kept at 40f, which none of these youtubers ever do, and it was never meant to be a 1:1 simulation of human flesh, muscle, and sinew. It was meant to be a consistent medium that could be used to compare different bullets behavior after impact, specifically, penetration and wound channel characteristics. None of that matters if you’re trying to use it to make a cool slow motion youtube video, though.
The people making up these „theories“ don’t know anything about ballistics and have no idea what bullet was used. FMJ? JHP? Cast? or any of a dozen other types and weights. And without knowing that, it’s all just misinformation based on assumptions that are based on, well, nothing. Certainly not based on knowledge of the relevant factors.
Wouldn’t the powers that be take into account “hey no one is gonna believe this.”

A solid core wouldn’t necessarily break apart like that. A hunting round or soft tip expands more.
The expansion varies widely between manufacturers. This is all assuming the round wasn’t altered in some way and custom loaded.
You can fire that round 5 times and get 5 different results.
