The particularly fucking stupid thing about this – if the mother gets a high enough fever, not using acetaminophen to reduce that fever could fucking kill the baby.

Interestingly, there are several medical studies showing that untreated fever during pregnancy, particularly in second trimester, significantly increases autism risk. So by making pregnant women afraid to control their fever with Tylenol, autism rates could actually increase

This is another potential „reason“ for a national pregnancy registry. The Party of Pedos wants to control everything surrounding women and prenatal care.
This is meant to further their agenda that „women are evil“ and that they can’t be trusted to make decisions for themselves or for their unborn children.

Autism was diagnosed in the 40s. Acetaminophen wasn’t released until the 50s, the math isn’t mathing.

That last sentence is interesting.

It’s actually possible that the link found is because mothers didn’t take enough Tylenol during pregnancy. The fever is the cause, and if you just took a little bit of Tylenol, you increase the risk for autism. Because of the fever.
It’s likely way more complicated, but just showing how you can use stats to say whatever you feel like.
Too bad no one will ever fund researching whether the wide spread use of animal growth hormones in big agriculture might have some effect on human fetal development. I mean, anything except looking at the massive changes that have been made to our diet over the last half a century!
Isn’t Tylenol going to sue?
There are different motivations for Trump and RFK. RFK knows how to manipulate Trump by letting him claim he’s cured autism. The press conference and ratings are all Trump cares about. RFK gets him ratings by generating controversy.
RFK is a dyed in the wool crackpot, though. He believes the whole world is a giant conspiracy theory of major corporations, big medicine, paid off scientists and pharmaceutical companies. RFK needs to get the public to agree with him that vaccines are killing everyone and if he can’t get everyone, he’ll settle for the 32% of MAGA followers. Watch what happens – first it Tylenol but then it’ll be the co-morbidity of mixing vaccines with Tylenol. It won’t end here.
This reminds me of the idiots that did studies like 50+ years ago trying to prove that there was something in gum that was causing cancer because there was a strong correlation to gum use and increased cancer risk later on in life.
As soon as some smarter people did additional studies that controlled for confounding factors they found that there was in fact 0 increased risk of cancer. What they found was that when they controlled for smoking (stop comparing smokers from the gum group against non smokers in the non gum group) there was no longer a correlation. Because, duh, smokers are more likely to chew gum. Once they separated those out they found the actual cause for the cancer incidence increase, smoking.
So here, if you compare mothers that don’t take Tylenol at all during their pregnancy versus mothers that do, you’re going to, naturally, compare mothers that got sick or had a high fever while pregnant with mothers that didn’t.
Wanna know something that increases birth defects during pregnancy? Getting sick and having a high fever…
Sadly this isn’t even that bad for these guys. This is confusing enough to be misunderstood even by some scientists so I wouldn’t expect this administration to understand that level of scientific nuance. But the root problem here is the same as it always is, and it’s that these bozos think they know more than doctors and scientists that actually study this stuff.

Autism was first diagnosed in 1943 (existed a lot longer of course). Tylenol was brought to market in 1955. Huh.
Just wait: Tylenol’s gonna pay Trump $10M, and he’s gonna come out next week saying that actually it’s Advil that causes autism.

There are BILLIONS of chemical processes that occur during a pregnancy. We have only started figuring out how different combinations of chemicals, hormones, and dna work together. Singling out a singular link like this is not only absurd, is simplistic bullshit. Science has long linked certain things (smoking, lung cancer) together through only a basic causation relationship and it took several decades to actually have hard evidence with exactly WHAT those factors were. A person is made up of so much unexamined data with what they eat, what the make up of those nutrients how and how they interact, and the effect they have, it is fucking stupid how dumb this is. Johnson and Johnson should sue immediately. Their product is already linked to a diagnosis that they will struggle to reverse public opinion on.
Like many studies, the ones that showed the spurious connection between paracetamol and autism didn’t have enough controls in place. Once you account for things like the age of the parents the observed increase in rate sharply drops, when you include other really basic controls to a study it disappears.
It’s like when they said red wine was good for you. It was a shit study because they didn’t account for the basics like socioeconomic background. Because it turns out (big surprise) rich people have better health care
I would imagine Tylenol’s lawyers are salivating at the billing hours they are about to rake in.
Interestingly, if you go over to the conservative sub even they’re complaining about this. Granted, they are complaining in very small subsets, but some of them are complaining.

Don’t fall in the trap of thinking they’re dumb. They have real science, which shows a large overlap between autism and gender dysphoria. If they can start a medical ’solution‘ for the autism ‚fever‘, they can do it for trans people, starting with their autistic overrepresentation. This is a Holocaust strategy.
